First meeting for President Bob Helms

Greetings!

Tonight is the FIRST MEETING of soon-to-be inducted President, Bob Helms.  (Bob will be officially inducted on Saturday, October 16th at the Installation Banquet.)  Our meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Jerome Senior Center.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Installation Banquet - Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Jerome Country Club.  No-host Social Hour is at 6:00 p.m.; Dinner and Program at 7:00 p.m.  Cost is $15.00 per person, payable at the door.  If you haven't already done so, PLEASE RSVP to me today or call me (644-2611 or 308-7995) and let me know if you'll be there.  You also have a dinner choice - 6 oz. sirloin steak, chicken cordon bleu or chicken teriyaki.  If you don't let me know what you want to eat, you'll get chicken of some sort.  :)

1st Quarter District Conference - October 22-23, 2010 in Poulsbo, WA.  If you're interested in attending, let Julie Stadelman know.  If you would like to, you can register online at www.pnwoptimist.org

Youth Appreciation - Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Summit Elementary in Jerome.  We are looking for the awesome kids in our community in order to honor them.  As we've done in years past, we're not necessarily looking for the straight A students or athletes - we're looking for the kids who stand out and make a difference just by being them.  We've never failed to be impressed by the youth in our community so if you need a little revival in your heart about "kids today", please come to our ceremony.  You won't be disappointed.  Chair is Sheri Mitchell so if you have any questions, please contact Sheri.

Coats for Kids - The new school year is in full swing and colder temps are on the way.  Sheri Mitchell is, once again, chairing this project (as well as Youth Appreciation) so if you have any questions or want to become involved with the Jerome Coats for Kids, please let her know.  She'd love to have you!

Breakfast with Santa - Saturday, December 18, 2010 at St. Jerome's Catholic Parish Hall.  We are excited to announce that we will get the use the new Parish Hall for Breakfast so we'll have more room for everyone...and the heater should work, too!  Chair is Lori Tangen.  If tradition continues, we will meet at the Parish Hall at 5:30 a.m., serve breakfast from 7:00-11:00 a.m., Santa will arrive around 8:00 a.m., it will begin snowing around 9:15, Brent Evans will make a pancake that he says is Mickey Mouse (the jury is still out on that one!) around 10:00 a.m. and Tom Borresen will carry a tray on his head around 10:12 a.m.  We love a routine!

I'm still waiting on information about whether or not we will be doing a Monte Carlo night for the Jerome County Christmas Party.  Stay tuned...

That's all for now.  Have a fabulous day!
