March meeting announcement and calendar preview

Good Morning JOC Members,

Reminder of our meeting next Wednesday, March 4th at 6:30pm at the Jerome Senior Center.

The agenda is and summary of our February meeting:

  a.  Easter Egg Hunt - The Jerome Optimist Club is joining with the Jerome Kiwanis and Jerome Rotary for this year's annual Easter Egg Hunt!  The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 4th at Forsyth Park at 10:00am sharp.  Join us for the April 1st meeting to put together Easter Egg baskets for the kiddos.  If you would like to donate goodies for the baskets, please bring to the meeting.

  b.  Dunk Tank - Marsha Martin will be the chair person for scheduling of the dunk tank.  The dunk tank will be housed at the Martin Farm for safe keeping.  Please let friends and family know of the fund raising opportunities for use of the dunk tank!  Users of the dunk tank will need to sign a waiver for use of the tank.  The waiver is being finalized.

  c.  Coats for Kids - over 350 coats given away this year!  There are not enough thanks to express to Sheri for all of her hard work in distributing the coats!  Additional thanks to the Snake River Corvette Club for their funds in supporting the JOC!  The big hearts of Sheri and Snake River Corvette Club warmed the hearts of 350 kids!  WOW!

  d.  Special Needs Fishing Derby - The fishing derby date has been set for Monday, April 27th!  Save the date and join us as we share in the joy and excitement of very special day for the kids as they catch fish, hook worms and enjoy a day at the pond.

  e.  Ongoing business:  JOC working on nonprofit status, the cost for the Breakfast with Santa to be calculated.

The best cookie award was given to Barbara Martin.  Her sugar cookies are the best (with or without frosting)!  (Yes, I am a bit bias to my Mom's cookies.)

The Club had the honor of re-instating the membership of long time member, Lloyd Martin and excitement of installing a enthusiastic new member Bobby Dye.

Please join us next Wednesday!

Joyfully Serving,
Marsha Martin
